The kingdom is in shambles. With the death of the most beloved king and your stepson not yet of crowning age, you alone must fight for the right to the throne. In your way stands your adoptive family members, who intend to take the crown for their own greed, though your stepson seems to be supporting you, as does his fiance. With the three of you working together, there's nothing that can stop you. But you must work quickly—these next few weeks are crucial to securing your kingdom.

You know that the southern country is a small one; it is prosperous because of its location next to the sea, and thus its imports. However, in terms of firepower, you have the upper hand. It would take a lot of effort and sacrifices on your part, but you're likely to be victorious. Plus, because of its harbor, you'll most certainly net more income as the years go on.

It has been recently discovered that your husband was, in fact, poisoned. This was no natural death or the plague, but rather, murder—and your guards may have found the perpetrator.

It comes as a shock to everyone when your to-be daughter-in-law is accused of murdering your late husband the King. But it is true that she is the last one to have seen him before he began to show serious symptoms of his illness. Your daughter-in-law refuses to speak about the contents of the meeting, though it seems to have been intense, according to the maidservant who served them tea. It was "quite tense, as if they were having an argument", as she said.

You don't think she could have done this. But you are the Queen and you must decide what to do about this possible betrayal. The people are angered and wish to see her executed.

We're going to have a thorough, fair investigation and interrogate her and also everyone else, especially the maid, who is the most suspicious! If we find evidence that the maid is guilty, we'll put her in a secure prison with trusted guards and explain to the kingdom that justice and peace is what's important, and the late king, who was kind and compassionate, would want true justice and what was best for the country, not bloodshed.

On the other hand, if sufficient evidence is not found to implicate the maid and the people still cry out for her head, they'll fake the daughter in law's death and safely and secretly smuggle her to another peaceful kingdom another name.
