Name: Hekate Domain: Skies Alignment: Neutral Inspirations: cats, fire, decency to others, destruction, volatility, dislike of assholes
Hekate, goddess of the skies, is a lioness with fur of fire who roams the skies and rains down destruction on those who cross her. Those who find her favor, though, she blesses with warmth and protection. And as long as you're not an asshole, it's not hard to be on her good side.
We'll be creating land, with a volcano at 18-9, and valley around it at 17-9, 19-9, and 17-8, 18-8, and 18-10.
The volcano is active, although not constantly exploding--the smoke that pours from it is a good barometer of Hekate's mood! When she's pleased, a breeze blows the pale wisps of smoke away from the valley. When she's anger, the smoke grows darker and more roiling, almost like stormclouds. When she is truly angry, the volcano will explode, raining fire on those who displease her.
The valley itself is rich and vibrant, a temperate forest on the extremely fertile soil around the volcano, teeming with life both plant and animal.
We have a ten this round...and we get another two, plus the five we saved from last round...If we save all of it, we'd only have to roll a 5 to be able to create a race. But if we spend it we'll be able to make an avatar...[CONSIDERING.]
Or we could spend a little on something. Maybe expand the forest out further, or something?
We'll spend ten points to create an avatar for Hekate! His name is Apollo, and he's a great golden lion who wanders the sky by day and gives light as the world's sun, and wanders the land by night and protects the forest and takes care of the volcano to make sure it doesn't do anything Hekate doesn't want it to. He's also fire-proof so the volcano won't hurt him, and he's also Hekate's mate.
The rains in Hekate's lands aren't precisely pleasing to her, but even this can be used to her advantage. With one great paw she stretches out, touching the land and bringing forth hot springs in a secluded grotto. In the rain and humidity, the plants that grow here are brightly colored, as if to adorn this grotto of comfort with jewels to her satisfaction.
Which is to say, we're putting hotsprings on 20-9, and saving the rest of our points.
And thus, her realm solidified, Apollo and Hekate turned to the volcano, and from it forged mighty dragons, great beasts of magic and mystery, to bring Hekate's sacred fire up into the skies she prowled. Their scales gleamed like all the jewels and stones of the world, lined in gold and silver, and their wings shone with Apollo's sunlight. In their breath lay Hekate's fire, and proud and gleaming, the dragons took wing, soaring with joy in their Mother's breath.
