But now things are different. You no longer work for the Empire, but for your homeland of Tataria -- and to a lesser extent, the people you've come to associate here in Jambudvipa. With a group of trained revolutionaries and dissidents at your disposal, you are prepared to bring the liberty your own nation has found from its monarchs and dictators to Jambudvipa, as well.

What are you here for? To find a way to harness the power of these spirits for the good of all mankind. The march of progress cannot be stopped, not even by the supernatural.

And would you happen to know what the area to the south is? And... maybe you could give us a brief summary of what experiments you're conducting, too?

Currently, the research being done is on how to best utilize the power of the Devas for the good of mankind, though no real breakthroughs have been made there, yet. At the moment, there is a push to develop both a magitek device capable of containing them, and a bio-organism capable of absorbing their power.

The SOUTH is STRICTLY OFF-LIMITS.

[ At the "off-limits" talking, Briar subtly gives Lace a significant look. ]

[returning that look for a moment; she'd rather not go there if they have a choice, but they could talk about that later

Is there anything we could provide you with that might help your research?

Any information you could give us about the Devas and how they operate would be great, yes.

[loveinvein]

... well, we don't know anything. But if something comes up, we'll let you know.

I can't imagine we'll find anything pertaining to it in the forge, or even back in the quarry. What do you think we should do?

[loveinvein]

Let's go back to town and see if the people know anything. If we stole some of his stuff from another country, there's a chance the traders might have information. Or we could always see if we have any "contacts".

[bloodbiter]

The docks might be a good place to go, if we're looking for people who have information from other countries. It sounds like a suitable place to me.

[loveinvein]

We'll start there then. Even if the topic's a little distasteful... this isn't turning out so bad at all.

You're right. I think I may have been wrong about what manner of game this is.

I'm going to be as careful as ever regardless, so I don't see the harm in being hopeful. If it is dangerous, talking about it now won't change that.
