This is the generic middle class part of the city of Angra.

There is literally nothing of interest here, probably.

To the NORTH is the OLD CITY.
To the EAST are the CITY GATES.

OLD CITY

The old run-down streets of this quarter of the city are riddled with trash, both material and human. The infirm and ill too poor to pay away their conditions lay in the gutters, and really, if they lived in any of the buildings here they wouldn't be much better off. Even if they were, they'd still be starving.

You can practically smell the discontent in the air, but these people are so crushed by the stark realities of their lives it's likely to never amount to anything.

To the NORTH is a RUN-DOWN TAVERN.
To the EAST is THE MARKET.
To the SOUTH is WEST CITY.

CITY GATES

Welcome to the Grand City of Angra! ...Well, no, not quite yet. These are the gates, the boundary that keeps the rabble out and keeps the grand city so grand.

Guards stand watch at the towers, and on either side of the gates' ground level. Caravans are checked as they pass in and out.

Atop the gates is a gigantic sculpture depicting a vile green monkey, skewered on the tusks of a garish yellow-green boar. It is evidently supposed to symbolize the defeat of the rebellion three years ago, which definitely happened. The rebel scum is no longer a threat, at all.

There is no war in Jambudvipa.

To the WEST is WEST CITY.
To the NORTH is MARKET STREET.

Welcome to the Grand City of Angra! You find yourself on the main thoroughfare, markets lining the streets, and beggars and orphans seeking coin loitering about. Everyone is busy, busy, as you should be, right? Unless, of course, you have something you'd like to buy.

To the EAST is the OLD CITY.
To the WEST is the NOBLE QUARTER.
To the NORTHEAST is the PORT QUARTER.
To the NORTH is the PALACE.
To the SOUTHEAST is the EMBASSY.

NOBLE QUARTER

Of course, you see no one on the streets of the noble quarter, aside from the people that you assume are in the fancy carriages being pulled about.

The homes here are about as extravagant as you'd expect. Pinnacles of Gurkhani architecture, really. And everything is absolutely pristine!

To the EAST are the BARRACKS.
To the WEST is MARKET STREET.
To the SOUTHEAST is a manor that appears to be boarded up.

This manor looks every bit as grand as all the others...despite the fact that the windows and doors are all completely boarded up, and the fact that you get the distinct feeling that no one has lived here in years. But other than that, it's not guarded at all and...none of the carriages or guards even seem to come anywhere close to it.

You're starting to feel a bit nauseous.

To the NORTHWEST is the NOBLE QUARTER.
