Cecilia comes to you all. She tells you she's dying; considering the way she continues to flicker in and out of existence and the weakness of her voice, you don't doubt that she's telling the truth. You're very scared. She has a solution: she wants you all to find a co-patron. So she asks you all to pick one, because she knows how important the choice will be to all of you.
But three of you [Magpie, Hawk, Nightingale ] are distrustful of all echoes… even, apparently, Cecilia. They will not be swayed so easily. And Togetic is missing—even Sparrow and Gull, who seem more inclined to make a move, don't want to make a decision without her. To your inner dismay, it's decided you'll all have to wait to have an official team meeting until she gets back.
You feel you are the odd-man-out, too inexperienced to know what else might be done instead, but also the only one too scared not to want to make a decision to save her life, right now, even just a fail-stop to prolong her existence. And make no mistake, you're terrified: for Cecilia's future, your team's, your own…. If a bad game happens again (and one does) who knows if she'll be able to hold on.
You resolve to do… something. Over the coming days, you devise a plan: you'll live in a tent in the forest so that Cecilia can be free of your burden. Other people point out there's no way even this will be enough, but you're desperate. If the others feel differently, it's okay: you tell yourself you're not scared to do it alone (you are scared, and feel utterly alone).
This is the last time I saw her awake, crosses your mind. I knew what had to be done and I… still didn't do it. This is my fault. You feel an incredible weight bearing you down, and you want to cry. ]

[ from the doorway you came through suddenly a bird runs in. it makes a beeline for the closet and drags out a large, nearly empty cardboard box. On the front of it there is a note. It reads "Please put away odds and ends." Inside the box, you find a small stuffed wolf.
( HE NEVER EXPECTED IT TO TASTE GOOD, but he's determined. crazily determined. he chews up and swallows the flower despite how bad it may taste because he's not about to let hiyori hold onto something like that. )
Hiyori! Listen to me! Fuck that! You are not supposed to carry the weight of your team alone and you better not ever think that! What happened should have never ever happened! That's not how teams are supposed to be! None of that was!
