It leads you into an ill-lit but spacious living room area. There's an open kitchen to the left, the two areas only being divided by a half-sized kitchen counter. In spite of how large the rooms are, somehow you feel almost claustrophobic in here. ]
[ Seated in the middle of the middle of the room is a comfy looking couch. In between it and the wall to the right where a large flat screen tv is mounted there's a coffee table. To either side of the TV, there's a large window with its curtains drawn. Against the wall closest to you, there stands an ajar closet door: the light's been turned on and you can see boxes propping the door open. Against the far wall, someone's put on display an elegant kimono that dominates most of the wall next to a small bookshelf. A single book lies on the floor.
[ the book is titled SELFLESS. as you pick it up, you both feel heavier holding it and an intense need to protect this book. there's an empty spot on the bookshelf for it, if you want to put it back ]
[ hmm... he'll be holding onto the book for now, at least until leaving this area. but what other kinds of books are there on the bookshelf, I wonder? ]
[ There other books on the shelf are thick and heavy looking too, clearly a matching set the book on the floor belongs to. Along their spines in gold leafing their titles have been printed:
[ ah yes, even an uneducated ruffian like him knows when symbolism is on the table. it seems clear enough that he should put the book on the shelf with the others, but he'll do it when he leaves the house. for now, let's check out the coffee table. ]
