It is a very normal reaction. How do you value your ability to survive, then? What are you willing to sacrifice to live?

...That's a tougher one. There's no hard limit, you know? I mean, people think 'I would die without this person' when they're talking about people they rely on a lot day to day but I'm pretty sure if they didn't have it they would just learn to get along without it.

Would a life without those people still be worth it, though?

I've gone through most of my life without anyone I could count on. I'm a little biased on this, but... You can live without most people, even if you think you can't. You learn to live without.

Were you happier without those people, alone?

No, but that doesn't mean I couldn't live without them.

[ no. however, looking up at it... natalie will start to experience a sort of itch in her muscles. almost like... she really wants to jump. ]

[pausing for a moment and then sighing before jumping]

[ were you feeling sarcastic and skeptical before? you're overcome with a RUSH OF ADRENALINE as you jump--high enough to get up to that second story with the window, yes ]

[—oh, she wasn't expecting that. she grabs onto the sill once she's high enough, though! if the window is open, she'll climb on in.]

[ it's not, however if you look the lock appears to be rather flimsy ]

[kicking at the lock to try and break it]

[ It breaks! the window cracks open slightly on its own ]

[ To get inside, you find yourself pushing back a heavy set of curtains. Beyond that, you find yourself in your room. Sitting behind a low kotatsu in the center of the room is a young girl. There's an assortment of objects on and around your desk, including a trashcan and a computer. Your bed is made, and a bunch of stuffed animals sit on top of it. ]

[ The little girl looks up at the sound of your voice and seems to visibly brighten. ]
