Select two to five animals from the provided list. If there is another animal you would prefer to choose than the ones listed: in the case that there is a similar animal (ex: you want a swan, there is parrot or hawk) you may make 1 swap; in the case that there is a radically different animal you want not listed (ex: puffer fish, kangaroo) you make 1 substitution. 1 extinct animal may be used.
[ ** ooc: No animals that have not actually existed IRL, please. ]
2. Naming & Physical Appearance First, assign which part of the body each of the animals chosen in the last round will present. The areas to assign are as follows:
Head & Neck
Torso
Front Legs
Back Legs
Tail
For those teams who chose an animal with wings, the additional options are available:
With Wings
Without Wings
Having determined the creature's physical appearance, please decide on a name that you wish to call it.
The head of a T-rex, the torso of a Lion...the front legs of a monkey, the hind legs of a platypus, and with the wings of a bat and the tail of a T-rex so that it can whip it!
3. Supernatural Powers By default, each creature generated will be classified as "immortal," meaning that their lifespans will go uninterrupted so long as they are not killed by having their inherent weakness(es) exploited. Please pick 1-3 supernatural powers that you'd like your creature to possess!
[ ooc: As usual, if you'd like something not featured on the list, ask the echo ICly or the gamerunner in IRC ]
4. Weaknesses & Nature You may select a number of personality attributes for your creature equal to the number of weaknesses that you choose for it. You MUST pick at least one weakness and one personality trait.
[ ooc: If you want a personality trait or a weakness not listed, please ask the echo ICly or the game runner first. a very large list of personality traits can be found here: http://ideonomy.mit.edu/essays/traits.html)]
5. Lore No mythological creature is complete without some kind of basic information. Write a short mythological background story or bestiary entry detailing any of the following:
origin story
a detailed physical description of the creature (ex: colors, fur & scale patterns, etc)
how their powers and/or weaknesses work
its habits & habitat
how its powers work / to what purposes they're used
