taking the middle path, the wisp of light always maintains a slight distance a head of them, speeding down and slowing up as though traveling the maze is nothing but a game. ]

[ There is a cutesified mascot next to the scaffolding set up against the side of the building wearing a hard hat with a sign in front of her stating PLEASE PARDON OUR MESS.

[ Having gotten the measure of this group- time to examine the perimeter.

Is there anything of use near the scaffolding? ]

[ progress to the front is prevented by the presence of large hedges dotted with more blood-sucking flowers. there are some open tool kits next to the scaffolding filled with wrenches, hammers, and the like.

the scaffolding is braced up against the building and up above is what would appear to be an open window on the third floor. ]

Huh...

I wonder if that's the only way in.

[ he is glancing around to see if there's anything else... ]

Might not be, but it's certainly the most obvious entrance.

[he says as he scans the scaffolding with a keen gaze from below]

I'm not sure if all of us can get up there, though. That's a problem.

[ not exactly. they're the same kind of hedges from the maze, though, meaning that they're full of those tiny, sharp-looking glass flowers. ]

I can climb it as well, but there might be a better way in.

[ Aoko goes to check out the hedges, prodding at them with the end of her mop. ]

[ nothing happens to the mop, exactly, but wherever the hard wood touches the glass flowers, fairly deep scratches in the hard wood appear. that would probably hurt very, very much if it was human skin... ]

are there any other ways in, besides the front entrance? ]

[does the scaffolding look sturdy enough to climb?]

[ it does indeed! and conveniently, part of the scaffolding appears to be positioned underneath an open window on the third floor. ]

[aha. well he knows how they're going to get in. for now, he moves to examine those tool chests. are the tools in good condition?]

[ they are! you could probably use them for dismantling things, or projectile weapons. ]

[Lapis goes to investigate anything resembling a door on the front of the building.]

[ alas, the way to the front of the building is blocked by huge, solid looking hedges filled with tiny, sharp looking glass flowers. you're stuck at the side. ]

[Well, damn. Lapis examines one of the flowers, looking to see if it looks anything like the one on the gauntlet she has back in her room. Also, if there's anything useful in them.]

[ the flowers are very, very tiny--closely resembling gala lilies, really, if gala lilies were super small and made of very sharp looking glass. it doesn't appear that there's anything useful inside the flowers ]

and then investigates around the scaffolding for anything that might be helpful... ]

[ someone has left some toolkits, one of which kaito is conveniently stealing. that would appear to be about it out here.
