[You exit the parlor through a doorway in your team's color and find yourself in some kind of entry hall. Aside from the one behind you, there are four doors - one on each of the side walls, and two opposite the entrance - each with an image carved into it. They're a bit hard to make out, however, since only one torch on the far wall is lit, lending the place a gloomy atmosphere. What you can see is that the room, once richly decorated, is now a mess; the walls are covered in peeling, royal purple wallpaper, and great swaths of the ceiling are coated with sticky cobwebs. The floor is covered with large marble tiles, inlaid with some kind of swirling design in glittering gold - but sadly, it too is out of shape. The tiles seem to shift a bit under your weight, and some of them are even missing altogether.

If you try the doors you'll find that all of them are locked, and no amount of manhandling can get them to budge.]

[OOC: This game is a treasure hunt/dungeon crawl! Your characters will be exploring the rooms they pass through and facing different challenges in each one. Some rooms will be exploratory, others will have specific rules! The goal is just to reach the end. Teams will be scored on things like teamwork, cleverness, creativity, etc.

Skills are ON, but there will be penalties if you mess up Knut's castle. He lives here, you know!]

[After verbally bitchslapping the NPCs, you move into the FINAL CHAMBER.

It's a round stone room with a pit sunk in the middle. Unless you can fly or crawl on walls, there's pretty much no special way around- you just walk straight through the middle. Directly across, you can see the last door, gilded and pretty and waiting for you!

And in the center of the pit, precisely positioned between you and it, is a hulking, growling chimera.]

I'm gonna eat it.

You're tired an' weak. How're you gonna eat it?

[ oh hey look what I woke up just in time for ]

No.

I'm so hungry...

[ oh. do you want down then, lupus. ]

[ probably I need to convince this chimera to let us by before lupus freezes and eats it ]

[It looks so damn tasty.

By which I mean, it looks alive and close enough for me to eat.]

[ yes okay here you go then just.

setting her down on the ground?? ]

turning into a wolf and bounding over to the chimera to TALK TO IT LIKE NATURE INTENDED ]

Hi! My name is Lupus! Let's be friends!

[Far away in the castle control room or wherever the hell he is, Knut flips a table and makes a note to never allow skills in a game again.

The chimera arches his back and his lion head continues to growl.]

What purpose have you in this realm?

Me and my friends were just thrown in here and we're trying to make it out! If you let us through, we'll be super grateful and we won't bother you ever again!

I cannot. First you must meet my challenge.

[He sits back a bit and raises his head proudly, tail swishing. Around his neck is- surprise surprise - another copper wedge, tied to a string.]

I want that.

Lupus, what's going on?

[I don't speak beast.]

[ i don't either but i see a thing i want. ]

Can we get that?

[ She turns to Mira, nodding her head before turning back to the chimera. ]

Is it to get that thing? Can you just give it to us?

[agitated tail swish]

I cannot. You must first defeat me in an honorable battle.

I got this.

[ bark!!! ]

You're both exhausted, so I'll take care o' this.

[Not even arguing, but then, he's pretty ashen now. Too much energy used, no food, and a soaking wet tiny is not a good mix. Telling off and solving the last room took his last shreds of energy.]

What kind of battle? Does hide and seek count as a battle?

I suppose it would, as long as we are both honorable and follow the rules established.
