ALECTRYON + DAWON + AMALTHEA
[You are ushered out of the parlor and into a cozy sitting room. The storm continues to rage outside, but a roaring fire keeps the room nice and toasty.
As you enter, you find your clothes changed to something vaguely 1940s Noir-ish and appropriate to your character. You all look very dapper, though you may be surprised to find yourself crossdressing. At the same time, knowledge suddenly enters your mind- the role you will be playing in tonight's performance, information on some of your fellow guests, and the rules of the game, as well as the setup for the story.]
[RULES:
THIS IS A MURDER MYSTERY GAME! Investigate your surroundings, speak to your fellow guests, and solve the mystery! Points will be given for completing goals and appropriate IC roleplaying.
You can make private, friends-locked posts to other players for secret discussions, but you MUST include

NOTE: In this group, the parts of Kira Graves, Tod Mises, and Roger Mortis are unclaimed. ICly, Kira will have been unable to attend due to both of her children being ill. Tod simply refused the invitation because he thinks his dad is a jerk. Roger had a business meeting across the country that he was unable to get out of.

But he can feel his dignity slowly creeping down as she keeps staring.]
..Just my luck, huh...? [Clearing his throat.] At least it's just clothes.
technic's hard life
Perhaps we both should try not to focus on it.
Re: technic's hard life
Ahhah.... maybe not. But we're playing a part here, right? Like a play. No reason to take it too close to heart, I hope.
[Please please please it's the only way to save his pride. Although he does fuss gently with the edge of his skirt, looking at it thoughtfully.]
I know it sounds weird, but could I ask you to teach me a proper curtsy before we get started?
Re: technic's hard life
[She takes hold of the edges of her own skirt and demonstrating.]
I take it you're to play someone very proper, then?
Re: technic's hard life
A proper lady makes for a proper house, doesn't it?
[And copying the curtsy... a little clumsily because he's far too used to the bow of a gentleman. Eh, he'll work on it.]
Re: technic's hard life
[a pause]

Re: technic's hard life

Re: technic's hard life
I take it you haven't seen Phillip in a while, have you? I'm sorry if it's a shock.
Re: technic's hard life
Re: technic's hard life
What about you? A pretty face must have a name to go with it, right?
Re: technic's hard life
Re: technic's hard life
I haven't met your father in person, but to share success is equivalent to a certain family bond of its own, isn't it?
Re: technic's hard life
Re: technic's hard life
But if it's what has to be done, I suppose there's no helping it.

Re: technic's hard life
He's certainly considerate enough, though. I cannot say I'm ever in a state of want with his generosity.
Re: technic's hard life
Re: technic's hard life
I wouldn't have chosen marriage if I hadn't considered the ties that were bonding me, would I? I believe it is still worth it.

[His smile doesn't quite reach his eyes.]
What about you, though? Have you found yourself caught in the gaze of a gentleman fit to be your husband?
