[A gust of wind rushes past you, so strong that you nearly stumble backwards from the force. You hear whispers in your ear, an unfamiliar voice saying, no, not here, not now, go back, before your senses shut off entirely]

[You wake up again to find yourself in a room]

But she's. She's going to take a deep breath and see if there's anything in the cylinders]

Okay, so. . . . so . . . what now. She kneels down carefully, and picks up one of the bandages]

[She picks up a bandage. . .]

[And is immediately struck with the memory of Kaito, terrified yet angry, struggling against some thorny vines that are slowly squeezing the life out of him. It's. . . painful, to say the least]

[When the memory fades, Clover will have a few puncture wounds dotting her arms and legs]

[O-OH YEAH THAT GAME . . . she remembers that game . . .

She actually stumbles back, her back hitting the wall, and she drops the bandage in alarm, because she had (almost) suppressed her own experience of that. So THANKS KAITO]

[SORRY ABOUT THAT 8(]

[the bandage flutters to the ground, and then remains still]

[deep breaths . . .]

I am hitting you for that. [because. Because, that's why.

She's going to try to take the puppet down again, just because. BECAUSE!!!]

[the puppet is still stubborn :( is she only touching its strings, or the puppet itself?]

[she wants that puppet down, so . . . both?? But she isn't tugging on it so hard that she'll damage it if it won't budge]

[As soon as she touches the doll, she's struck with a memory of Kaito and his father, from when Kaito is only about four. The two are playing poker, and Toichi is teaching Kaito how the game works]

[Heart and smile are the most important things, and don't forget your poker face too, Kaito-kun]

[when the memory fades, Clover is struck with the urge to smile herself. Gotta stay strong, can't break, can't falter, can't fail--]

[she does end up smiling at that, albeit briefly . . . or not so brief, because it's a sweet memory.

. . . and then she realizes where she is and the smile is gone]

[What a good poker face Kaito has, right?]

[she hates you so much right now. So much.

. . . she's giving the puppet one last try]

[it's amazingly stubborn :( no matter how hard she pulls, it won't come down. . .]
