[Everything goes white, almost blindingly, as you enter Eveningstar's heart.... it's so overwhelming that you forget, for a moment, what you're doing, why you're here, and details about yourself start to slip---]

[but then it all stops, abruptly, and your senses return to you]

[It's reeling. It's wearing down. It's screeching impossibly loud. It's desperate, and in its desperation, it uses the only attack left to it.]

[It shoots out all of its shards at once, at you, like glass spears hurtling through the air]

["Poochy" jumps to his feet to do his best to put himself between you and them, getting impaled everywhere with shards, but it's not quite enough.]

[Should you survive the attack, you can now see that the creature is armorless and defenseless. More than that, you can see a large sliver where its neck should be, almost like.. a splinter? It's an obvious weak spot, and it's wide open]

[If you still have enough fight in you, that is]

[that's a problem when he was coming right at it. so those shards hit, driving into his sides and legs and one into his neck, and he goes down with a howling yelp. he crashes into the ground, skidding past the thing.]

[ Her clothes are ripped and her skin cut in some spots; seems she reinforced herself one more time. A gambit considering how weak she feels entirely, but then there's something that catches her gaze.

She's tired, but it's easy to move when she can manipulate the weight of her body. A foot step feels less like a chore and more as if she's floating. Rushing towards it, with a reinforced fist of steel... ]

Take that!

[The fist connects exactly in the sliver, and once again, the creature wails as the steel pierces its very heart and tears through the only remaining defense]

[This time, however, that wail is cut mercifully short as the last of its strength leaves it, and it sinks into the ground. Whatever material it's made of, feels slimy and thick and it slips down to the ground, pooling at your feet, before disintegrating completely]

[The final lock shatters on the door shatters. With that shattering, you feel some of your life and energy flowing back into you - enough that you can stand and walk, enough that the pain isn't overwhelming, enough that your injuries aren't fatal.]

[Eveningstar is nowhere to be found, but the door swings open of its own accord and you're free to go in]
