[further ahead, there's an intersection with four different ways to choose from. (one being going back the way you came, but I'm sure you're not interested in that. unfortunately, there's no sign of the shade right now. there is, however, a door slightly up ahead, on the left side of the corridor. it's one of those sliding guild doors, with a tiny window at the top.

upon seeing it, Castling stumbles backwards a few steps, letting go of Rook's hand in the process]

But ... that was a troubling response. Looks from the door, to Lucciola, looking more curious than worried for the time being. ]

What is it? Is something in there?

[shakes his head and forces himself to step up beside Rook again, looking carefully guarded]

Gripping his keychain a little tighter, but he drops his other hand on Lucciola's shoulder. ]

If there's a way to help you in there, we're not afraid to go in. But ... if there's something within that scares you so much, you shouldn't just act like it's 'nothing important', when your reaction just now said differently.

Because if it's something bad, or painful, or dangerous, those ... are still parts of you. The you that I want to help. And no matter what they are, I'll still love those parts of you no matter how frightening they get.

[ He'll make sure Lucciola stays either close or not too far out of reach depending on what he decides, but TO THE DOOR. ]

[he seems to hesitate to go along, but in the end he does, but keeps behind you. it's not like he'd be caught if he was found wandering the halls anyway.

if you look through the window before you try to open the door, you'll notice the room is illuminated by a shadowy neon light. it's not the same kind of bright white that everywhere else has been. it's circular in form, where the center is occupied by a round platform. at the far end of the room is a staircase leading up to a chair or a throne. the room is completely empty, save for one familiar figure barely crouching at the floor in the middle of the platform. he lacks a shirt and seems to have trouble keeping himself upright, and with good reason. with those lashing wounds, it's close to a miracle he still looks conscious]

[he's trying hard to regain his composure, after a few moments, he seems to be getting on his feet, swaying slightly.

Also to get a better look at the Lucciola in there, and how old he looks in this room specifically. ]

But he felt that tugging, so he manages to at least give the tiny another comforting headpat, as if saying it'll be okay. THIS IS PAINFUL but he'll deal. He'll ... especially deal, since from the looks of things from the outside alone...

the Castling inside the room is clearly the grown up version and he starts to turn around upon hearing the noise of the door opening, but as he's doing so, he collapses forward a bit]

Lucciola--!

[ That ... simply prompts him to rush over to his side, and he quickly drops to his kneed to try and catch him and keep him up. ]

[ He keeps him steady with those hands, careful as he fights every urge to pull him into a hug because he knows doing that would probably hurt.

He ... doesn't smile, though he twists his mouth into something that might be the saddest attempt to not look like he wants to crack ever. ]
