[ The Traveler steps in front of all of you, her arms raised dramatically! ]

Today, we take the first step of a very, very long journey together! This dream belongs to a young man, a criminal and his gang who on an otherwise normal heist has gotten in way over his head! Normally, this would be a nightmare, full of blood and death and abject horror!

Fortunately, I have taken the liberty of altering this dream so that it is completely safe and above all, fun! It would not do to have your first foray into the world of unreality to be so unwelcoming! The goal of this game is to survive, reach the end, and solve the mystery...

Just speak with the conductor!

[ There's a young, red-haired frumpy looking conductor standing by Epona's train. ]

[grandstanding]

[am I really going to have to get in a train and play along with this crap.

yes. SIGH. walks up to the conductor.]

Let's go.

CAR 1

[soulping]

[ A young conductor ushers you aboard, his frumpy red hair gleaming beneath his hat.

You're in the dinner car of your team's train, where some very clearly high-class people are mingling...for the most part. There's some people up at the bar that you can tell are LESS THAN SCRUPULOUS. Also, one of them is apparently a cowboy? It's 1931, for godssakes.

The cowboy appears to be telling the young nervous man a story. Something about a TRAIL TRACKER, that appears on trains to murder everyone, at which point the train vanishes...obviously a urban legend, but the nervous man proceeds to FLIP THE FUCK OUT ABOUT IT, and runs off out of the car, insisting that he needs to find the young conductor to warn him that everyone on the train is going to die.

The moment he vanishes, you hear the sound of a pistol firing, and people start to panic. Welp.

OBVIOUS EXITS ARE EAST.

[ you are absolutely going to have to get in a train.

The conductor gives a small bow. ]

Yessir! Right away!

[ Advance to CAR 1. ]

[grandstanding]

[well, shit. he ducks out of reflex when the shot goes off, but gets over it quickly while the passengers start freaking out.

as he was never one for decorum, Blade jumps up onto a table to better launch himself past all the frightened passengers, and sets off in the direction the nervous guy was heading.]

CAR 2

[soulping]

[ As you leave the dinner car, you see a group of people in black suits, carrying cases for musical instruments, running into it. The nervous man seems to have stopped for a second, watching them as they file in, wondering what the christ they're doing when someone just fired a gun.

OBVIOUS EXITS ARE WEST, EAST, and NORTH.

[ SWEET JUMPS. Braving the crowd of panicked passengers, you manage to make it out of the dining car!

Advance to CAR 2. ]

[grandstanding]

[good time to yell after him, right?]

You! Stop there!

[ He turns around, shaking. ]

A-aah! What?! You can't be here, everyone in this train is in great danger! I gotta go tell the conductor!

But it might not be safe!

If we're all in danger, then it's not safe anywhere. Get moving.

CAR 3

[soulping]

[ As you enter this car, you hear MACHINE GUNS firing back from where you came. There's nothing in here but a few crates, which if you wanted you could probably climb up to the HATCH on the roof.

SUDDENLY, a man in a white suit carrying a pistol walks in. The nervous man cries.

OBVIOUS EXITS ARE EAST AND WEST.

[grandstanding]

[he was distracted looking back to where the gunfire noise was coming from-- but movement in white catches his attention. he makes the grab the nervous guy and push him to the left, whilst going right himself.]

[ The nervous guy falls over into a crate, still crying. The man in white fires, but misses! ]

[grandstanding]

[only one thing to do! the man in white will see Blade run behind the crates... but what runs out the other side is a wolf.

and it's charging right at him.]

[ OH GOD A WOLF

Is what most normal people would probably yell, but this guy's clearly a bit unhinged, judging by the crazy grin on his face even as he hesitates in confusion.

He fires a shot, but it's wildly off aim and grazes Blade's shoulder. There's no blood, or pain, though. Just a sticker that says 'WOUNDED' on his forehead. ]

[grandstanding]

[He flinches briefly, more at the expectation of pain than anything... but it doesn't stop his momentum, as he gets within a couple of feet and then LUNGES at his gun hand, jaws open and aiming to clamp down around his wrist.]

[ The guy screams as he's bitten, and drops his gun.

He starts punching at Blade's head, with his free hand. ]
