- Cat whiskers - 2 points
- Tears of a ghost - 5 points
- The song of a mermaid - 5 points
- The sobs of a zombie - 5 points
- A golden nugget - 7 points
- A bright red ruby - 7 points
- A cauldron - 10 points

You also find a small, brown pouch attached to your waist. You can store any items you find during your exploration in there]

The Living Room Library

[You're in a large and spacious living area, where the floor, walls and ceiling are all built out of faded wood. There is no artificial lighting, so it may take a moment for your eyes to adjust. A large picture window on your right, however, allows streams of moonlight into the room, which helps with visibility a little bit!]

[You can see the dim shapes of a couch in the center of the room, and bookcases lining the back and left walls. Hanging on said walls above the bookcases are several wrought-iron candleholders with tall, white candles in them. None of them are lit]

[On the floor, you can see dark splotches of. . . something? Staining the wood. It's difficult to tell what color it really is in this lighting, though. Come to think of it, there's a light layer of dust covering everything else in this room, too. . . someone hasn't cleaned up in quite a while]

[There's are two doors you may go through, should you so choose: one on your right near the picture window, and one right in front of you. On your left is a staircase leading up.]

Kitchen

[The kitchen is large, but not quite as big as the living room was. It's not a very modern kitchen either. There's a wood-burning stove with a stack of chopped wood lining one wall. The front door of it is closed, but you can see the glow of a fire flickering within through its transparent window. A set of wooden cabinets with iron handles lines another wall, and in the center of the room is a kitchen table with a few chairs pushed around it. There are some items on the table that you'll need to investigate more closely in order to tell what they are]

Upstairs Hallway

[The stairwell leads you to a small, thin hallway with plush carpeting underneath your feet. Once again, it's dark, so your eyes have to adjust before you can make your way around. On the far end of the hallway a portrait hangs upon the wall. It features an elderly woman with large, frizzy, white hair. . . in the dim lighting it's difficult to tell, but her hair seems to have splotches of red within the white locks. She stares right at you, gaze unnerving]

Garden

[It's as dark outside as it was inside, but thanks to the moonlight you can make out a cobblestone path that stretches out in front of you. It weaves through bushes upon bushes of flowers towards a white gazebo in the distance.]

[Wait]

[. . . wait those flowers are moving? Closer inspection of the plant life will reveal that it consists mostly of venus fly traps, creepy thorny vines, and stinking corpse lilies that sway from side to side, as though they're alive. The lilies are also emitting a wretched scent not unlike that of a rotting corpse. Ew.]

[If you choose to press forward, you can investigate the gazebo. Or you can go back inside]

Storage Room

[Unlike most of the house, this room is made entirely of stone. It's about as large as the kitchen is, and the walls are lined with shelf after shelf after shelf. On the shelves are several different glass jars containing. . . well. You may have to get a closer look to identify those substances]

[There are also many different objects piled into one corner of the room. Several bristle brooms, some empty jars and containers, a few dusty cloaks, some pointed witch hats. . . there are three closed treasure chests in this room, too. They're all locked]

[On the opposite side of the room is a giant iron door covered in chains. A large sign is plastered on the front of it: OFF LIMITS. KEEP OUT!! NO ENTRANCE ALLOWED]

Dungeon Hallway

[As you climb down, Haunt's words echo throughout your mind, distant and almost inaudible. . .off limits, off limits!]

[You find yourself in a long, dim hallway. There are scattered bones and broken chains at your feet. The walls are made of stone, and torches (lit torches?) line them. This is the only room you've seen with any sort of light source in it so far. Hmmm]

[The path ahead is only lit so far, however. All you can see at the end of this hallway is darkness. Behind you is a door. How do you proceed?]

[ WELL THIS DOESN'T LOOK GOOD AT ALL but let's see if Cut can take one of the torches off the wall so he can walk around with it, and just look if there's anything under the bones and chains (he hopes these are not human bones...). ]

AND SUDDENLY

[No matter what you're doing, or what you're in the middle of, the world begins to spin! And then everything goes black]

[And when you wake up. . .]
