You're both astronauts on a space station.

You both had to perform a spacewalk to repair an air leak, but something has gone terribly wrong, and both of your tethers have broken. Neither of you have anything on you, but one of you can push the other back towards the station.

There are rescue craft on the station, but she's adamant that you are the one to be sent back.

This is an easy one, at least. One of us can teleport. The other can't. I think the course of action is fairly obvious.

I . . . guess so? It doesn't give much detail other than what's there, so . . .

The problem is an air leak, though, so let me go through the possible things that might go wrong: There will probably be problems with the air on the station, so I'll need you two to hunt down the emergency supplies.

Do you think the air leak was repaired? If you're out there to do that, you've got those supplies on you.

Probably not all of the supplies. They probably gave us just enough to do what we needed to do, so it's hard to tell how long we have.

This is probably going to be where you stand out, though. We're going to need to repair the leak, and we're going to need to run diagnostics on the rescue craft. You're probably the one with the most overall experience in handling both, to be honest.

I - can certainly try. But I don't really have experience in the former . . . at all.

Well, we'll see how it goes, then.

C-Call me cynical, but I feel like that means there's... going to be something wrong with the rescue team.

That goes without saying. I'm working out possibilities already... For starters, the problem was an air leak, which means there are probably going to be problems with breathing on the station. Make sure to hunt down the emergency tanks: They shouldn't be connected to everything else for obvious reasons.

S-So something like... Teleport to the ship, get a tank, give it to her, fix the leak, take the craft to get her?

Pretty much, though there are still a few more steps to go. We need to make sure the craft doesn't have any problems, too.

... But if the problem is with tethering, couldn't we just... Give her a new one of those, pull her in, and then fix the leak? Or do you think there won't... be any more tethers?

Most likely, the loss of the tethering means we're no longer in range of being pulled in.

[ thinking back to what it said... ] ... So we can't just push her closer and then teleport, then do it again until we're both back where we started?
