Years ago, you recieved a charter from the United Empire, and were officially made a member of the newly christened Trade Company! Your goal was to seek fortune wherever it may be found in this strange land...of course, through force of arms, if the natives failed to cooperate.

But now things are different. You no longer work for the Empire, but for your homeland of Teutonia -- and to a lesser extent, the people you've come to associate here in Jambudvipa. With the magitech and bioengeering facilities placed at Landfall, you are prepared to claim this region for the fatherland.

What are you here for? To find a way to harness the power of these spirits for the good of all mankind. The march of progress cannot be stopped, not even by the supernatural.

Take all these lands have to offer, and bring forward the dawn of a new age!

SHRINE OF LIGHT

The SHRINE OF LIGHT is dedicated to Suirya Pratyuisha, the Light of Dawn. At the center of the shrine is a gigantic glass sphere set in a marble base, and surrounding it are several mirrors.

It'd probably look beautiful if light were shining through the sphere, but the canopy is pretty thick here.

To the SOUTH is the SHRINE OF FIRE.
To the EAST is the SHRINE OF THE SKY.
To the NORTH are the CITY GATES.
To the EAST is...a LEOPARD COLONY? You think you heard that wrong. Maybe it's LEPER COLONY? Who can even really tell. You can probably try to go to either and it won't even matter, at all. They're basically the same thing.

Excuse me, I'm going on something of a pilgrimage, and trying to learn as much as possible about the devas. What can you tell me about... Suirya Pratyuisha? Am I pronouncing that right?

Suirya Pratyuisha is the Light of Dawn. She loves us all, and gives life to us all. It is in her light that we walk, so that we may know where fate leads us.

I see. Then the glass sphere represents the sun at dawn? What kind of rituals do you perform for her? I noticed you adjusting the mirror, but I imagine there's a bit more to it than that.

...Unfortunately, we are unable to properly perform her rituals at the moment. We are in the Era of Dusk, where the darkness is far more powerful than the light.

Oh? Is there a deva of dusk as well, then? I haven't heard anything about it, so I don't really know for certain.

...Well, I suppose it would be an enemy of Suirya Pratyuisha, at least. Let's get off that subject, then.

What were the rituals like before the Era of Dusk? Surely they haven't been lost forever.

The dusk clouds the light, and as such the inspiration for the rituals is hard to perceive. Even memories are clouded.
