It would appear that the dead tree was split by a lightning bolt; its bark shows sign of old scorching, in addition to being split down the middle. Growing on this, though, are several sepia colored mushrooms. It looks like you can pick them. They might even be edible.
Taking a left, you hike for some distance. the trees are quickly becoming shorter and smaller, giving way to brush. The path is much rockier now, and even though you can see better now, you had best keep an eye on your footing. As time is passing, your party is growing hungry. What should you do?
