now that you're closer, you can see that it's a Himalayan cat inside. You can't see any visible scratches or bites, and in fact, but as soon as you see the numerous tags on its collar, the front-most which is silver and reads "CECILIA," you feel an incredibly, intensely deep guilt. ]

Cecilia... I've heard that name before. She was our patron before Isabel, wasn't she?

[opening the cage and carefully picking her up, holding her in her arms]

[ there is a certain ping in your heart, a certainty, that confirms, yes, you've guessed right. Cat Cecilia continues to sleep peacefully in your arms, unaware. ]

[kisses the top of her head, and gently jostles her]

[ she still sleeps. the harder you try to wake her up, the sadder you feel, until...

oh dear. that was a mistake.

that's a dreadfully painful burning sensation all over both your palms wherever the moth touches your skin. it's still alive, though, between your fingers, not quite crushed. are you going to continue to try to kill it this way? ]

[cries out and grits her teeth in pain. it hurts terribly, but she's not letting go yet. she scrambles to try and find something to fight it with. it burns, so maybe water? is there a sink nearby?]

[ On the other side of the sink. You'd better hurry, though. It feels like the thing is trying to burrow into your flesh, and a purple rash is spreading up your wrists and across the back of your hands.

you're starting to have weird thoughts, too. dark thoughts. like how if you can't even manage to save just one person... what good are you for, anyway? ]

[scrambles as fast as she can to the sink, slams the moth into the basin and turns the water on, to drown it or stymy it]

[ The moth actually completely dissolves in the flow of water, and as the water hits your hand, it seems to neutralize the severe burning pain you're experiencing. You've got some pretty deep wounds in your hand where it tried to bury itself into your body. ]

[she will gladly hold her arms under the flow of water, sighing with relief. fortunately, there are bandages here, at least. are the wounds bad enough that she can't use her hands at all?]

[ hands are kind of delicate body parts. she'll need to be careful still, but if she bandages herself well, she's not out of commission. ]

[she may need some assistance for this job, then. gonna ask Natalie for help when she's not being mauled by tigers]

There was a moth. It was trying to devour part of Roc, trying to dig into her through the cracks. I grabbed it, and it tried to sink into me, instead.

[exhales deeply]

It's dead, now.

[but she needs some help bandaging her hands]
