Okay. Uh, I guess it's kind of related. Because, like, back home it's kind of the one thing everybody is afraid of most, at least until they're really old and miserable. Nobody knows for sure what happens after it, so I think that's what makes it so terrifying. Most people do everything they can to avoid it even if it's going to happen to everyone.

Here, though... It's sort of different, since people come back afterwards. But, I mean, even if logically you know you're going to come back, it's not as easy to block out thousands of years of human biology that basically tells you dying is bad and to be terrified of it.

Then, you also find death terrifying.

It is a very normal reaction. How do you value your ability to survive, then? What are you willing to sacrifice to live?

...That's a tougher one. There's no hard limit, you know? I mean, people think 'I would die without this person' when they're talking about people they rely on a lot day to day but I'm pretty sure if they didn't have it they would just learn to get along without it.

Would a life without those people still be worth it, though?

I've gone through most of my life without anyone I could count on. I'm a little biased on this, but... You can live without most people, even if you think you can't. You learn to live without.

Were you happier without those people, alone?

No, but that doesn't mean I couldn't live without them.
