You are on a spaceship.

Most of your time will be spent on the bridge, which is exactly as fancy as you’d expect it to be — it looks a little like this. (The chairs are super comfortable!) Your brand new artificial intelligence — which, if you investigate, you’ll find is housed in a small computer chip — has been implanted into the computer terminal on the back wall. The diagnostics readout displayed along the bottom of the screen tells you that the AI has only been outfitted with the most basic of Stability Cores, and is currently Critically Unstable.

Maybe. I dunno. Either way, nothing's gonna happen to them. We need to get the program ore power, but... maybe we can get ourselves disconnected from the group running this experiment.

We don't have enough funds to buy more cores, is the thing... I don't know much about technological stuff, though, but disconnecting from the experiment sounds like a plan.

We'll have to full-stop the ship and flush out any existing connections. And then ignore any incoming frequencies until we can look over the firewalls. I don't think we can fit all of that into one round.

...Then maybe it'd be better to go yell at the government while we protect Roxy. Scientists tend to be funded by the government, right? So they've probably at least got a say in it, if they're not behind it all in the first place.

Funds source would be good. Give 'em an ultimatum, like "you will stop the experiments and free all the AIs you've got or we'll zap the funds source and maybe the government capitol for good measure" or something.
