There’s an office desk strewn with stuff; piles of notebooks, a few newspaper clippings. A half completed crossword puzzle, and a sudoku grid that was clearly filled in with pencil, failed spectacularly, and then erased to try again.

A coffee mug filled with frigidly cold black coffee … and another one, almost empty. And another one, half full. And another one, two big gulps would’a finished it off. A mostly full bag of gummy bears. A lab coat flung over the back of the spinny office chair, with a pair of bright blue rubber gloves hanging out of the pocket.

This notebook looks to be completely empty.

The newspaper clippings contain various headlines. ”Fears abound that Echo Corporations (ltd) will be the next big tech company to fall victim to the Insurgents!” ”Galactic Government strike back against gross allegations.” ”What’s the Story So Far? Military R&D Fleet Turned Terrorist! Catch the full documentary at 6.”

Hidden beneath the clippings was a carrot. Huh.

A bag of marshmallows.

Half a cupcake.

A small plastic dinosaur.

And you notice that underneath the desk, there's a small cardboard box.

That is actually possible. I... do not know how I know that, but I do.

However, it might be more productive to try the door in this room first.

There's enough of us that we can do both. We might be able to find out who has authorisation and whose office this is if we do that.

That's a good point.

If you do try the gloves, turn them inside out. The fingerprints will be on the inside.

[Lapis claims the labcoat, the sleeves flopping over the ends of her hands, and the coat itself dragging on the ground. However, she uses the moment to pick up a few of the glass shards with the back side of thegloves and put them in a pocket for the future.

Once she does that, she thinks for a moment.]

Can someone try the door?
