And reach a dead-end. Looks like you made the wrong choice!
When you turn back around, though, you're ambushed by an annoyed swarm of bats that were resting in that area. They screech and some of them nip and bite with their little sharp teeth.]
The rest of the bats kind of ... bonk against the shield a few times as they try to get through it. But they don't leave their area, so once Aoko and Armin get back to where the two paths are, they won't be followed.]
[ They're between rocks and a toothy, ravenously hungry place, with shards of ice raining down against the shield she'd thrown up around them. ]
If we cave the roof in on them we're gonna be trapped as well, we can't fight that many off at once, my grappling hook won't help in this close quarters ...!

Re: THE DEN
W-Why the heck—?!
[ Good thing for Cat pendants! A bubble shield snaps into being around herself and Armin, but not before Aoko PUNCHES A BAT IN THE FACE. ]
[ Also not before she gets bit a few times, either. ]
Re: THE DEN
Armin curls himself around the bear to protect it from getting bitten, which means he gets some extra bites for his trouble. Ow.]
Re: THE DEN
And hisses.
How rude, you guys are the trespassers!!

Re: THE DEN
I … I'm going to leave the shield up for a while …
[ They've got ten minutes of it, and at the rate they're going, it'll probably come in handy before long. ]
G-Geez.
Re: THE DEN
[Time to go back and try the right path!]
Re: THE DEN
The path either continues forward or branches left.
You hear another howl, this time it's closer, and the sound of numerous distant feet echoing somewhere in the cave behind you.]
Re: THE DEN
Shit.
[ why are the wolves catching up oh god ]
Contingency plan while we run?!
[ she's gonna keep going forward unless he stops her ]
Re: THE DEN
Do you think we're still close enough to the surface to teleport out?
Re: THE DEN
Re: THE DEN
Sorry guys, it seems like that was the wrong way to go. They hit another dead end.
By the time they turn around to head back to the path they should have taken-- the wolves have caught up. Standing there cornering them, snarling.
Aside from that, they hear a slight ... crack? From the ceiling above.]
Re: THE DEN
[What's that from above is the tunnel going to collapse on them??]
Re: THE DEN
If things keep going like this, I'm gonna run out of casts ...!
Re: THE DEN
Icicles that are now raining down on them.
The wolves seem startled by them as well, but not enough to run away.]
Re: THE DEN
We need to get out of here right now!

Please work—!
Re: THE DEN
A few of them hit the wolves, who yelp and jump back. Far away enough that they can rush for the other path if they make a break for it.]
Re: THE DEN
Re: THE DEN
Re: THE DEN
And now they're pissed.
As they run down the other path, there's a wall-- a little too high for them to be able to climb quickly enough before the wolves catch up...]
