The moment you step through the mirror door, you seem to - slip, as if the floor were made of wax, but when you fall there is no floor to catch you; only darkness.

You fall for some time. Eventually, it feels as if you're not falling at all - but rather, floating . . . and some time after that, it almost feels as if you have no body at all. The light from which the entrance of Canis's heart is disappears quickly, and you're left with nothing - not even your own screams, if you have any; nothing seems to leave your throat, and there's no sound at all, besides. Even the rushing of wind is gone, and your own pulse seems to fade away. . .

. . . what penetrates your consciousness next is the soft sound of music. Someway or another, you find yourself on a white platform; you're dressed in plain clothes of your team color, all items gone from your person. In front of you, four stones float; all perfectly square and identical to each other. Each have images - a sword, a staff, a bow and arrow, and a sparkling circle . . . you understand what you must do.

[ looking around. ]

Why's it dangerous?

". . . I want to protect you."

He pauses; "There. . . There are traps here. But if you get caught, you can die. . .."

Why're there traps?

". . . It's complicated."

Mira might notice there's a depression in the sand, as if a hole had opened up under that area and the sand had filled the hole in.

Don't let me mess nothin' else up, a'right?

[ moving to pick up devotion.

let's go check it out. ]

There's nothing there. . . Oh, except for a few pieces of glass, if you look carefully.

". . . .it's better not to go that way. There's nothing there."

Is there supposed ta be somethin' here?

". . . No. Not anymore."

Devotion doesn't look at Mira, his eyes instead trained on the shards.

So this's Duty, then. A'right.

[ exhales sharply. ]

I can't summon my wings. Is there a way to fix that?

"Only Magicians can use wings."

Guess I picked the wrong thing, then.

[ let's just walk a little. ]

"Don't touch the plants." Devotion warns, looking at the ground. . . . It's still so hot, too; every step you take makes you feel weaker and weaker. . .

[ is there anything here but plants though. ]

If you're climbing up to the top, there's a plateau-like path curling around the mountain, and a lovely patxh of shade too - something that would be lovely to rest in, for the moment. It's even big enough for the both of you.
