Now then, let's see... First, I'm going to train up everyone in this group on how to stealth, as well as some additional training in fighting. We're also going to go out of our way to disguise ourselves as merchants, including travelling with some items valuable enough to seem like a viable trade route, but not valuable enough to make them think we're royalty. When we encounter the bandits, we'll surrender, trusting our disguise as merchants to see us through, and hoping they'll be satisfied with just the valuables we set up.

If they aren't, things are going to be a lot tougher. We'll have to fight our way out, Still, we have an explosives mage, and I can teleport. We'll use the mage to provide a distraction while I get our weapons back. Once the battle starts, things will change pretty radically, but I also have some tactical skills, so I should be able to help direct the battle as needed. Our goal is to escape with as little damage as possible however, not to wipe them out.

We'll send our Fate point to Barghest.

Your plan is successful, and you make it through the forest without any casualties or a fight. However, the delay in reaching your destination makes those you are visiting wary, and in its own way contributes to a declaration of war years later.
