Most of your time will be spent on the bridge, which is exactly as fancy as you’d expect it to be — it looks a little like this. (The chairs are super comfortable!) Your brand new artificial intelligence — which, if you investigate, you’ll find is housed in a small computer chip — has been implanted into the computer terminal on the back wall. The diagnostics readout displayed along the bottom of the screen tells you that the AI has only been outfitted with the most basic of Stability Cores, and is currently Critically Unstable.

Roxy and the newly dubbed Xi shall hack ALL THE THINGS with hacker expertise/plus AI to dig up all the information on ethically questionable AI experiments and then proceed to give the data to ALL THE NEWS OUTLETS plus whatever proof they can dig up. Such is the way of the info monger trying to destroy things.

They will also use the ships lazer cannon to destroy the more corrupt funding sources for the labs, preferably when said buildings aren't occupied by people. Along with a threat to follow that more will be destroyed if the AI aren't released to more humane people.

RESULTS

Roxy and Xi attempt to hack all of the things! They’re reasonably successful in this venture — they learn that clinical trials for advanced AI implantation into human interface ports have shown some promise for further development. They learn that AI are, of course, based on human minds. It’s a murky mindfield as far as the law is concerned — it’s all so recent that nobody is really sure what to do. One top secret branch of the military is lobbying a proposal that AI should be considered entirely non-human; weapons, to be utilized as such in order to secure a brighter, stronger future for the human race. Others wonder if they could be helpful in achieving a form of immortality.

Unfortunately, that’s as far as you get. Information is being locked down hard, and so is the news. Darn that pesky censorship! … Luckily for you guys, social media is its own monster, and the information you do manage to get out is spreading like wildfire.

The attack you launch against the Brighter Future corporation devastates them. There are some casualties … both in the building, and on your ship: a counter-attack is launched by a privately hired security force, and a couple of crewmates are “killed” before you manage to escape.

We don't have enough funds to buy more cores, is the thing... I don't know much about technological stuff, though, but disconnecting from the experiment sounds like a plan.
