[The Dark Roxy looks at her with wide eyes and then sob and the tears are falling.] I just wanted you to accept the truth! The void isn't something to fear, it's apart of us! It's them you should be afraid of!

They'll leave you again! Just like always, but you won't SEE IT!

[And the dark aura is flaring up around the Dark Roxy as Robin's eyes roll up and she slumps over in the chair.]

[Oh. Well. On the one hand WORRISOME. On the other hand...]

If it's void, she'll stop hurting me. [And her voice is SHIFTING, and the whispers are becoming an undertone now.]

[The other Roxy starts morphing, getting taller, back arching, clothes turning into fur, and...grew cat ears? Actually, it appears she's some sort of lithe two legged cat-werewolf like creature. That is until the beak formed on her mouth, and tentacles grew from her side. Tears were constantly falling from her eyes.]

[There was also a hole in the middle of her chest, the void crest surrounding the hole.]

[This is probably the worst instance of being like your animes.]

[......Yeah. He is definitely having nightmares. GREAT.]

No you don't. [Aaaah, god, this is ridiculous.] What you want is to be accepted. Even if you went out into the void like this you wouldn't accept it. Not entirely.

It wouldn't matter if she did or not. The void would make it all go away. All the hurt and confusion and doubt.

That's not what I meant. I set myself up to care too deeply about you. [Does he even have to say that? Hadn't it been so clear? Being so open, telling her secrets, always staying so close?] Even when I walk away I only pretend to. Prodding your friends behind your back to help you, trying to solve problems before they can get to you.

If you only steal for others and everything I do is to be close to you one way or another, this should be a no brainer.

In the end this is just a game. Even if you went out to the void you'd be pulled back after the game ends. Because this is Nyssa's world. Or- you can make a change that lasts past the game. That's the point, isn't it? To get something for yourself?

You're not very good at looking at how people might take things. What did you think walking away accomplished? She had to talk herself into still going to you.

She kept thinking she shouldn't bother you. If you don't trust her, did she really deserve to bother you? She had to tell herself repeatedly that you told her it was okay. She was so scared, she needed something. So she kept telling herself the entire time, forcing out the words, trying not to talk in endless circles.

[The tentacle tightens painfully for a few moments before loosening again. But the voices are whispering that maybe it shouldn't have, wouldn't that have been nice?] Whatever lesson you were trying to teach was lost because she thought she was wrong again. That she still couldn't understand. That her words were still so unclear you took it as manipulation when she was begging for help.

Even when you gave her the locket, it only partially healed the damage you caused. What's to say you won't do it again? Even if you're trying to solve her problems, what's the point if you cause more?

Do you know how much it hurt to push away that desire. How much she tried to not let the fear get to her. Convince herself that duty would be enough when she KNOWS it wouldn't?!

If she accepts her desire, that'll be enough. She'll walk, sooner or later. Something will make those pieces fall and she'll do what she wants to do.

[Sheathing his sword.]

[Untying his sword he drops it along with the knife and walks over to place a hand on tied up Roxy's shoulder if he can, careful of the ropes.]

Yes, it is. But she's used to taking responsibility for everything in her life. She can recognize your flaws, but when it comes to ourselves, we can only blame ourselves when it goes wrong.

We're the ones who don't know people. The ones who grew up around strange aliens. If something is wrong in a relationship, it's our fault.

If you leave, it's because she fucked up.

I'm the part that knows that's not true. That Hell is a two way street. But that scares her and she hopes if it's her fault, she could fix it. But that's not so easy when you're doing the things you tell her not to do.
