[ while its hand is outstretched, Rook aims and fires into the opening left there by Belt's attack before it attacks, hoping it does something at least.

Also sorry Belt if you're still standing when the attack starts and Rook sees you NOT MOVING you're just going to get. Shoved out of the way really hard.

Don't throw up on me. ]

[isn't nearly strong enough to drag a full-grown man anywhere, so he's going to hop on Technic's torso and scrunch down with his shield in front of him, hoping to at least save Technic's face and vital areas from significant damage, as well as himself.]

[Belt is safe, although the urge to vomit becomes so intense under the heat that the contents of her stomach are now on the ground. Congratulations.

Otacon's left leg is hit with sparking shrapnel from one of the bolts, peppering him with small burns. It's not fatal, but damn, it might hurt a bit. Despite that, he does not pee ~~because he rolled a ten again~~.

Garnet is safe. In moving Otacon, she will notice that the switch of her tuning force produces a clearer sound.

Shuu can feel the edges of his feathers singing at bolts flying a bit too close, but he is otherwise unharmed. With the heat against his shield, it's apparent his actions have prevented a disaster with the unconscious Technic.

Rook successfully helped Belt dodge and received a foot covered in her vomit in return. While dodging, though, his bullet had hit its mark. The shadow's right arm erupts into flames.

The temperature is climbing rapidly, a wave of intense heat rolling across the ground.
Belt is fine.
Rook is fine.
Shuu is weakened for one turn.
Otacon is weakened for one turn.
Garnet is fine.]

[ Crying out in pain and trying to slide away further, behind Garnet so he can recover and get out of the damn way. ]

[ She'd totally forgotten about the tuning fork until she hears it. Going to hold the switch down and try striking it against one of the pipes nearest to them to test. ]

[ughhh not feeling great with the heat, but now that molten metal seems to have ceased falling from the air he's going to focus getting Technic out of harm's way, shifting him around and then using the shield as a lever to roll Technic in a direction that's away from the fighting.]

[ moving in the opposite direction of Tart, then. But also taking the liberty to try and get a look at the shadow from behind, to see if there are any areas that look open to fire at aside from its joints. He doesn't stray too far from the others, however, while he wants to make sure they're close enough to have each others' backs, if it throws another attack like that, maybe not being completely grouped up will be a help. ]

[...Okay then. Since I'm not feeling the heat anymore--urp--it's go time.]

[SHE TAKES OFF HER SCARF AND DROPS IT. SINCE WE DONT WANT TO BURN IT. o hai there collar.]

[Then she will go ahead and charge in with her sword in an all out overhead swing.]

[This look on her face is so safe. Really it is. She's definitely not starting to smile right now or anything.]

[Garnet's tuning fork starts humming at an almost hypnotizing frequency with the switch alone, and the faint shimmer of an energy shield comes to view. Clanking it on the pipe only causes the pipe to burst with a blast of scalding steam right against her hand and arm.

Being right behind her, Otacon gets a nice blast of that steam to the shoulder.

Rolling Technic's dead weight across the floor is not working for Shuu right now, only tiring himself out even further. His efforts are enough to get Technic's body clean out of the line of fire, but he will remain exhausted for one turn.

In circling the golem, Rook does correctly spot another opening, right at the base of the neck. Unfortunately, the shadow is fast to notice his movements, and is now lumbering toward him at an incredible speed.

And because he is moving, Belt succeeds in hitting the shadow clean in the opening where an arm had once been. She gets a blast of fire that would have otherwise killed her, but her temporary shield keeps her from even being singed.

Noticing that Belt isn't affected, the shadow quickly targets Rook and Garnet, a sudden lash of flame whipping out from its exposed body in an attempt to pin both to the wall.]

[f....fuck...

hunkering down on top of Technic's torso with his shield up to rest for a bit.

[ MORE SCREAMING. (Roll for how annoying it is.) ]

[ Hisses again, but doesn't get time to do much else because the golem is trying to play jump-rope with her!

If she successfully ducks under it, she's going to (unwisely) rush at it and try whacking it with the fork. ]

Tart! [There's an air of chipperness, of enjoyment there that is normally utterly lacking. She looks over to him as she takes aim for another slash, this one at the outstretched whipping arm.]

Throw your shield at his head! I have an idea based upon the square-cube law!

[After her slash, Belt is going to be trying to get behind the giant monster.]

--the back of its neck! If we could get him turned around or at least slow him down so I can shoot it like that arm--

[ since that arm just straight up exploded. Rook is pretty quick despite not getting all of his Guild enhancements back, so when he notices the shadow target him, he continues to be light and fast on his feet, trying to get out of the way and either jump or duck and roll when the whip of flame tries to hit him.

... though he does aim the gun and shoots again. This time at its leg area, if there are any exposed joints. Maybe getting it to fall momentarily can buy him the few seconds he needs. ]

Why does it have to try and kill us?!

[Shuu has temporarily regained energy and may breathe like a normal bird now.

Otacon's scream is more alarming than annoying!

Garnet twists out the way just in time, only recieving a light burn across the stomach for her efforts. In rushing the shadow, the fork activates with that pleasant hum, sending up a shield of blue, shifting octagons that repel the flame back with a shockwave of force.

Belt's slash is just slow enough to miss, the already-molten part of her weapon catching to the whipping arm and momentarily jolting her across the floor with her face in the flames. Good thing she's still got her shield. :|b The journey across the floor will leave her incredibly bruised, but her sword gives way with momentum enough to send her behind the golem.

With Belt being tossed across the floor, Rook is successfully able to dodge the attack, rolling out of the way and popping back up to take a shot directly to the shadow's ankle, which gives way immediately. It crumples to one knee, lashing out its whipping arms in all directions for one last attempt.]

PATHETIC

IT'S ALL PATHETIC

NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW

[ His hammer is gone and he is some wimpy Lv. 1 noob, really, so he just huddles behind Garnet as best he can. ]

Oh god, tentacles.

[taking advantage of his second wind to flap straight up into the air, shield firmly grasped by his feet - soaring up and diving at the shadow's head, releasing his grasp on the shield so that it hopefully hits the shadow in the head. ...though, the state of his weak wing hasn't been helped by his Technic-moving efforts, and he's never been a particularly athletic bird... so who knows how well that's going to go.

I hope this is what you were asking for, Belt!]

[IT'S GOOD ENOUGH because gonna use that distraction to go ahead and tackle the beastie.]

[After all, he'd have to recover forward if the shield hits him, and that would, hopefully, put him right on the ground for Rook to fire at point blank into the head.]

[Fire whips? Haha. That is for people who aren't immune to fire.]

[ yes, good. Now that it's on a knee, Rook half runs toward the shadow and half around it, trying to dodge its arms as best as he can but it's not the priority here, so he'll carry on whether or not anything singes or smacks. Running like that will leave him close to the shadow itself when he gets behind it and aims at that area of its neck.

He's close so he not only makes sure he hits it while it's open, but so it hits it hard and close and hopefully this will work like the arm. ]

[ They've got this sorted. Hopefully. Garnet's just going to keep guard of the noob, cradling her arm. ]

[The blow aimed for Otacon and Garnet misses by a mile. They are both safe.

Shuu's shield sails cleanly into the shadow's head, knocking it back and sending a pained roar in his direction. With its attention drawn, Belt's tackle is enough to topple its balance. With no hands to catch itself, the only thing it can do is extend its whips wildly, over walls and floors and furnace alike, in an attempt to ward off anyone else and keep itself from becoming prone.

Rook is safe.
Garnet is safe.
Otacon is safe. He may pee a little out of stress.
Belt is safe.
Shuu is safe.
Technic's unconscious body gets an arm of energy straight through the middle of his thigh.

The shadow's efforts are in vain, because in its state, it can't shake Rook away. The shot clears its neck, its head blowing off with a wailing scream and an enormous cloud of smoke.]

[The metal falls to pieces, clattering against the floor. What was once energy was now a sooted and charred shadow of Technic, smoke rising from his body.

He doesn't move. Only watches.]
