You will start with TWO THOUSAND MONIES. Every day, there will be an informational NEWSPAPER, which will update you on the status of the world and major events in other factories, allowing you to adjust your own workings accordingly. You will then have the opportunity to spend money on a variety of options, and make IMPORTANT DECISIONS regarding the operation of your factory. As the game progresses, more decisions and options will be available, but at any time you may try anything you can think of using the OTHER option!

Every day, AT LEAST ONE EVENT will happen, but more are possible depending on the actions of other factories. The winners will be the ones with the most profitable factories.

The war between Columbia and Atzlan has come to an end, ending in a crushing defeat for Atzlan. Over half of Atzlan’s territory has been ceded to Columbia, which has set to work resettling and building the infrastructure of its newly gained lands.

Meanwhile, new factories have been springing up across Columbia, the United Empire, Kemet, Latium, Tataria, Al-Andalus, the Union of Teutonia, Cathay, and Yamato.

Neustria, defeated by a coalition of nations defending Order and Justice just three decades ago, has been recently wracked by a wave of discontent eerily similar to that that sparked its rise in those dark days...

Smaller, more peaceful rebellions and protests break out across the remaining nations -- and while the United Empire buckles down on its vast colonial territories and Latium turns to the arts to calm its people, Teutonia and Al-Andalus begin gearing up to tear down the Neustrian republic to show the world the strength of monarchy...

With the backing of Clever Mouse Incorporated, elements supporting the continuation of slavery in Columbia have achieved victory over the opposition. Meanwhile, the short, bloody civil war in Tartaria winds down, with Rose Designs standing firmly on the side of the victorious Republican army.

As a result of these victories, Teutonia formally signs an alliance with Latium and Al-Andalus, while Kemet and the United Empire increase piracy actions against Columbia. On that front, all-out war has been avoided by the refusal of Smooshables to aid in constructing weapons of war, instead opting to start a highly popular line of charming and cute collectable toys. Cathay stews in decadence, the country quickly becoming more and more backwards even as it becomes richer, and Yamato bides their time….

War is almost a certainty. The flames of liberty have been ignited and quickly smothered, and all nations stand with bated breath, waiting for someone else to make the first move. Today, 1848 draws to a close, and though liberalism has only brought change in two countries, its effects will be profound.
